Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign up for GradeCenter?
To inquire about GradeCenter or to see a demonstration, please
send an email message to sales@gradecenter.com. It is very helpful if you can provide a few pieces of information with your inquiry: (1) Number of grade levels and number of students enrolled at your school; (2) one or more sample report cards that your school currently uses (in PDF of JPG/GIF format); (3) Information about your grading scale and grading methodology; and (4) Where we can contact you and the best times to do so.
What does GradeCenter cost?
GradeCenter is priced on a per-pupil basis, annually billed, with
automatic renewal. In many cases, the cost of GradeCenter is the same or only
marginally higher than purchasing pre-printed forms and completing report cards
by hand. We work with a number of inner-city schools with limited budgets and have priced our system accordingly.
What are the System Requirements?
There are two components to GradeCenter, the website where grades are entered, and a Windows software application that is used to view and print official report cards.
To enter grades and configure GradeCenter for your school, you
will use a web browser. We support all major browsers relased later than 2003
on all platforms (PC, Macintosh, Linux Distros). The system has been tested with Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome.
To view and print report cards, a PC running Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7 is required.
The system should have at least 64MB RAM and 20MB of free disk space. GradeCenter supports most printers. We recommend you
use a laser printer with at least 32MB RAM. This software is typically installed on one computer at the school.
How can I get help with GradeCenter?
Contact support@gradecenter.com.
Can I import data into GradeCenter?
We can work with you on a case-by-case basis to import data at a reasonable hourly rate.
Can multiple users access GradeCenter at the same
time?
Yes. There is not a restriction on concurrent access to the
system. GradeCenter's fee structure is based on number of pupils, not number of
users.
What if GradeCenter's report card format doesn't
meet my school's needs?
We make every effort to include report card formats that will work
for your school. If you are not able to use one of these formats, we can discuss creating a new report card format for
your school's needs. A fee may be required, depending on the complexity of the
report card design.
Can I get an electronic copy of the report cards for archival purposes?
In addition to printing hard-copy report cards, the report cards
can be saved instead to a PDF or Microsoft Word file for archival purposes.
You have full control over when you print your report cards and what format you
wish to print them to.
Can parents login to view grades?
No. GradeCenter does not support parent login.
Does GradeCenter have a gradebook component?
Not currently, but do let us know if this is something that you would like to have added to the system.
