Access Anywhere
GradeCenter is accessible from any computer that has Internet
connectivity and a web browser. This feature allows teachers to input grades
during grading periods from anywhere. No more staying late after school during
grading periods!
Easy to Setup
Your system administrator will find the task of setting up
GradeCenter for your school a snap. GradeCenter administration pages are highly
data driven, making the setup process intuitive. Once you have the first year
set up in GradeCenter you can use the 'Create New School Year' function to roll
the students into their next grade level, elminating redundant data entry
tasks.
Easy to Use
GradeCenter has a flexible, easy to use interface, making the task
of entering grades, attendance, and teacher comments easy and intuitive.
GradeCenter provides customizable data validation that eliminates most data
entry errors.
Secure
Access to GradeCenter requires the user to have login capability.
There are two user levels: Teacher and System Administrator. Users are defined
and maintained by your system administrator. This feature allows your system
administrator to control access. Printing report cards requires a special
printing application, providing even more security.
No Information Technology Maintenance
GradeCenter requires no additional IT infrastructure for your
school. We host the application on our servers, relieving your school from the
cost and responsibilities associated with running your own software in-house.
Flexible
GradeCenter is extremely flexible. You can:
-
set up as many teachers as you like
-
set up as many grade levels as you like
-

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I sign up for GradeCenter?
To inquire about GradeCenter or to see a demonstration, please
send an email message to sales@gradecenter.com.
What does GradeCenter cost?
GradeCenter is priced on a per-pupil basis, annually billed, with
automatic renewal. In many cases, the cost of GradeCenter is only
marginally higher than purchasing pre-printed forms and completing report cards
by hand. Please send an email message to
sales@gradecenter.com to get current pricing information.
What are the System Requirements?
To enter grades and configure GradeCenter for your school, you
will use a web browser. We support Internet Explorer 5.5 or greater, as well as
uplevel versions of Netscape, Mozilla, and Firefox. Other browsers may work,
but have not been fully tested with GradeCenter.
To view and print report cards, a PC running Windows XP (Home or
Professional Edition) is required. The system should have at least 64MB RAM and
20MB of free disk space. GradeCenter supports most printers. We recommend you
use a laser printer with at least 32MB RAM.
How can I get help with GradeCenter?
Contact support@gradecenter.com.
Can I import data into GradeCenter?
It is not possible to import existing data into GradeCenter at
this time.
Can multiple users access GradeCenter at the same
time?
Yes. There is not a restriction on concurrent access to the
system. GradeCenter's fee structure is based on number of pupils, not number of
users.
What if GradeCenter's report card format doesn't
meet my school's needs?
We make every effort to include report card formats that will work
for your school. If for some reason you are not able to find a format that
works for your school, we can discuss creating a new report card format for
your school's needs. A fee may be required, depending on the complexity of the
report card design.
Can I get an electronic copy of the report cards?
In addition to printing hard-copy report cards, the report cards
can be printed instead to a PDF or Microsoft Word file for archival purposes.
You have full control over when you print your report cards and what format you
wish to print them to.

GradeCenter utilizes some of the most advanced technology for
Internet security available today. When you access our site using Netscape
Navigator 6.0 or Microsoft Internet Explorer versions 5.5 or higher, Secure
Socket Layer (SSL) technology protects your information using both server
authentication and data encryption, ensuring that your data is safe, secure,
and available only to authorized users in your school.
GradeCenter provides an administrative account for your school
with a unique user name and password that must be entered each time this user
logs on. This account is able to create and remove additional accounts for
teachers to login to the system during grading periods. GradeCenter issues a
session "cookie" only to record encrypted authentication information for the
duration of a specific session. The session "cookie" does not include either
the username or password of the user. GradeCenter does not use "cookies" to
store other confidential user and session information, but instead implements
more advanced security methods based on dynamic data and encoded session IDs.
In addition, GradeCenter is hosted in a secure server environment
that uses a firewall and other advanced technology to prevent interference or
access from outside intruders.
